We are honored that you are considering holding your wedding at the Swedenborg Chapel and look forward to sharing this special moment with you.   Above all, from planning your ceremony to the event itself, we will do all that we can to help you celebrate the beauty of the love that has brought you together and the sacredness of the vows that you are making to each other.

Please contact our chapel office to discuss available dates and times.   If you have not seen the chapel, you will be invited to set up an appointment to do so.   You will also be informed of available services, rates and ceremonies.

Well before your wedding day you will be asked to meet with our minister who will work with you to create a ceremony that will be meaningful for you and your guests.   Should you desire, a minister of your own choosing may assist in the ceremony.  When you make your reservation we will discuss our two basic wedding services which we  invite you to review: Christian Wedding Ceremony and Ecumenical Wedding Ceremony. We are happy to include special readings and requests.  At the wedding conference,  if you have any questions about what can be included in our ceremony, please do not hesitate to ask!  

Couples are welcome to attend our 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service.   This will help you to get to know us, meet others who have held their weddings here, and provide you with a sense of being at home in our sanctuary.

General Information

 

I. The chapel will be reserved for a two-hour period, which gives ample time for you to arrive and get prepared, guests to arrive, the ceremony, and pictures following it.

II. Our sanctuary can accommodate up to 100 guests.   

III. Our parking lot accommodates up to 30 cars.   Additional  parking is available on nearby streets.

IV. We offer a three-tiered rate structure.   Intimate Weddings for fewer than ten guests,  Family Ceremonies for up to 60, and Friends and Family Events for up to 100 in attendance. 

V. Except for Intimate Weddings, our fees include use of the church for your rehearsal and ceremony, your pre-wedding conference with the minister, taped music, altar candles, and the services of our minister and wedding coordinator.   Intimate Weddings include use of the church, the services of the minister, and altar candles.  

VI. Our sanctuary has Wi-Fi that you may access.   Additional equipment for broadcasting or recording ceremonies is your responsibility.

VII. One photographer and videographer of your choosing may take pictures throughout the ceremony.   Guests may take pictures of the entrance and concluding presentation.

VIII. Rice, flower petals, confetti and bird seed are not permitted.  We recommend bubbles and bells!!!      

2012 Wedding Rates

 

We offer a three-tiered rate structure.   Intimate Weddings for fewer than ten guests,  Family Ceremonies for up to 60, and Friends and Family Events for up to 100 in attendance.               

 

Intimate Weddings are for up to eight people and include use of the chapel for the ceremony for a one hour period, and the services of the minister.   Altar arrangements and candles are also provided.   You may provide your own music.    

· The current donation is $150.  

· A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date and time, due when the reservation is made.  

· The balance is due the day before the ceremony.

Family Ceremonies are events that have up to 60 guests.    These include use of the chapel for the rehearsal and wedding ceremony, your pre-wedding conference with the minister, taped music, altar flowers and candles, and the services of the minister and wedding coordinator.   The chapel is reserved for your use the day of the wedding for a two-hour period.  

· The current donation is $350. ($300, if you want a rehearsal but no wedding coordinator to help at the ceremony. $250, if you prefer no rehearsal and no wedding coordinator)  

· A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date and time. 

· The balance is due at the pre-wedding conference.

Family and Friends Weddings include up to 100 guests.   These also include use of the chapel for the rehearsal and wedding ceremony, your pre-wedding conference with the minister, taped music, altar flowers and candles, and the services of the minister and wedding coordinator.   The chapel is reserved for your use the day of the wedding for a three-hour period.  

· The current donation is $600.  

· A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date and time.  

· The balance is due at the pre-wedding conference. 

Our sanctuary has Wi-Fi that may be accessed for all ceremonies.   Additional equipment for broadcasting or recording ceremonies is your responsibility.

Confetti, rice, birdseed and flower petals are not permitted in the chapel or on the grounds.   We suggest bubbles or bells!!!

In fairness to other couples whose weddings and rehearsals are being held on the same day as your ceremony, all ceremonies must begin at the time you have reserved.    We reserve the right to cancel any wedding that does not begin within 30 minutes of the scheduled starting time.
